The Regis Brunch at Al Habtoor Polo Resort
Ladies Night Angel Akanksha visited The Regis Brunch at Al Habtoor Polo Resort. Read her review here:
It’s a Monday afternoon and here I am on my laptop starting to write about another weekend brunch experience. But wait a minute; this time it is not my usual brunching and lunching types experience but a one which is different and exciting. This outing has not only served my culinary interests but made me witness the Royal sport of POLO as well.
AL HABTOOR POLO RESORT AND CLUB offers a weekend brunch and a chance to see the aristocratic game of POLO.
The Brunch is segregated into 3 categories:
- Brunch with soft drinks and beverages- AED 250
- Brunch with wine and beer- AED 350
- Brunch with Prosecco and sparkling wines- AED400
The resort is at final stage of completion, so you might witness some construction work around. We parked right outside the luscious landscaped polo ground, and saw temporary stables with beautiful brown horses. Little ones were crawling around, to pet these “sport champs”.
As we walked through this luxurious property making our way towards the veranda, beautiful white chairs and tables welcomed us with fresh flowers. It looked splendid and elegant and within seconds of getting seated, we were served with a glass of sparkling wine.
The International buffet spread had top international dishes from French pastries, Italian lasagnas, cold cuts, Mediterranean & Arabic grills to roasted turkey and sushi. The variety was enough to satisfy the taste buds of a diverse diner. I had Sushi first, followed by some grills from the live barbecue station and later freshly looking salad bowls sufficed my appetite. Ingredients used to prepare each dish were definitely good quality, as everything that I tasted and ate was delicious and fresh.
Firm favorites included:
• Beetroot and orange salad- healthy and tasty
• Brussels sprouts and bacon- two ingredients dish
• Chicken Galantine- cold cut
• pate en croute (baked in a mold/terrine) more or less like a baked pie, but the crust was definitely different
• Black forest cake and the fruit skewers dipped in chocolate.
Another attraction was their desert counter. It had a free flowing dark, white, chocolate sauce tap. Drizzle or pour, semi-sweet or extra sweet, you have the right to sugar rush. It’s a “family friendly brunch”, as there is a play area for the kids. Parents can leave their children under responsible resort staff supervision and enjoy the game.
Our minds were racing with curiosity for this hockey game on a horse, and in no time two teams of HABTOOR POLO CHALLENGE CUP lined up to start their intro match. After the match we got on the polo field to meet handsome polo players and their horse. Kids were taking pony rides and pictures. I was there to see RALPH LAUREN POLO logo come alive.
So here is an opportunity to start your winter season on a luxurious note with your family. Just pay for a good BRUNCH the match is a great add on.
